Let There Be Rock 2023

We can’t wait to welcome back to our wonderful Theatre on Saturday (11 March) the very popular AC/DC tribute band – Let There Be Rock.

“The band provided a fantastic night of live music when they visited us in 2022. We are really looking forward to another great night when they revisit us” said a spokesperson for the Players Theatre which of course is owned by The Lowestoft Players.

The group comprises of five very talented musicians from Norfolk and Suffolk. After all playing in various bands in the area for many years, they formed a new band in 2018 specifically to play the music of AC/DC. They now perform around East Anglia and have developed a solid fan base.

We asked frontman Ian Cook, why AC/DC?

“We all loved AC/DC, especially the early years when they were fronted by the legendary Bon Scott, we wanted to try and recreate the incredible atmosphere on those early recordings and gigs.”

Ian continued “The Players Theatre is a great venue for us to perform at. As well as having brilliant acoustics and an impressive lighting system, the flexibility of seating allows plenty of space for those who like to dance, plus the layout of the venue ensures that everyone has a great view.”

The show will be crammed full with all the best tracks from that iconic Bon Scott Era, including “Highway To Hell”, “Whole Lotta Rosie”, “Let There Be Rock” and “Rock ’N’ Roll Damnation”.

The original rock legends AC/DC, (whose ‘Back in Black’ album has become the biggest selling Rock album of all time), played at Vauxhall Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth on 11 May 1978. They had appeared at Tiffany’s, Great Yarmouth the previous year.

Almost 45 years later Let There Be Rock will provide the opportunity for AC/DC fans to relive those heady days of high voltage rock and roll. The two hour show, along with support from the popular local band “Movie Night”. Our doors and bar will open at 7.00pm, the live music will start at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at just £12 per person and are available from our Box Office – www.playerstheatre.info
